A Comparative Study of Internships at the Farhangian University (Iran) and Teacher Training Centers in Finland

Abstract

Background and Objectives: This research aims to study a comparative examination of the practicum program at the University of Teacher Education in Iran and Finland. Methods: To this end, the differences and similarities of the practicum programs in the two countries were investigated using a comparative method. The required information to answer the questions was gathered through the official websites of specialized collections, library resources, and reputable articles in both countries. The research is qualitative and employs a comparative and descriptive method. The research population includes all teacher training universities with a practicum program. Findings: A comparison of the practicum at these two universities was conducted regarding the characteristics of the practicum program and the curriculum content. The study's findings indicate similarities between the full-time practicum programs in the two countries. Conclusion: The findings of this study can help decision-makers and planners in the Iranian teacher education system address potential shortcomings in implementing practicum programs at the University of Teacher Education in Iran.
