Assessment of the obstacles faced by Physical Educator in using the Lesson study in virtual classes

Abstract

Background and Objectives: The purpose of the present research was to evaluate the obstacles faced by physical education and sports teachers in applying lesson study in schools in Semnan province. Methods: The research used quantitative methods, survey type, purpose, application, and data analysis with structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this research consisted of all physical education and sports teachers in Semnan province (N=253). Sampling of the research was done as a total number. Findings: The findings of the research showed that the obstacles in the lesson study of physical education and sports teachers include centralized organizational structure, weak organizational culture, directive leadership style, low quantity and quality of information technology, internal processes, the amount of information, and poor knowledge of teachers, lack of commitment and the type of personality of teachers. Formulating an integrated policy and coordinated management in school studies will provide a more suitable space for using the available opportunities. Conclusion: To remove the obstacles of organizing learning opportunities, lesson study can be helpful and practical, especially in the professional training programs of teachers, to provide the possibility of being active, creative, engaging in conversation, learning, and conducting collaborative research.
